BUILDING RECOVERY COMMUNITIES ONE VOICE AT A TIME
HOUSTON RECOVERY INTIATIVE
A Recovery Oriented System of Care
The Houston Recovery Initiative is transforming how we think about recovery, moving from episodes of treatment into a larger recovery-oriented continuum of care.
We create opportunities to collaborate with agencies across Houston, working together to aid those in our community affected by substance misuse. This important work is carried out through volunteer workgroups.

Fostering Recovery through Workgroups
Workgroups are essential to recovery, offering supportive spaces where individuals can address specific challenges and collaborate with others. The Houston Recovery Initiative (HRI) provides various workgroups, including Adolescent ROSC, Behavioral Health Integration, Criminal Justice, and Faith-Based Recovery Advocacy, to foster community and long-term recovery. These groups ensure participants have access to the resources and support they need for sustained healing.

Why We Do It
“The support I received from local recovery groups and community outreach programs was life-changing. It wasn’t just about getting clean; it was about learning how to rebuild my life with the help of people who understood my struggles. Access to these resources gave me the tools and confidence to stay sober and reconnect with my family.”
