HRI is working on addressing additional issues that can affect those in recovery through the new “Recovery to Work” Work Group, as well as other new Work Groups. This Work Group will work to identify employers who would be interested in providing input and training to those in recovery and to help them be successful in finding employment.
Another new Work Group is the “Working with Families” Work Group, which focuses on the needs of the families surrounding those in recovery. Addiction doesn’t just affect the person in crisis, it also affects the family and its dynamics. This Work Group is working to identify ways and resources to help families of those in recovery.
The latest Work Group to be created is the tentatively named “Lifespan Prevention Epidemiological” Work Group. This Work Group brings together the recovery community and prevention coalitions in the community, connecting the issues between the coalitions. Prevention should be a big part of recovery, and this Work Group is aiming to bridge efforts between the two coalitions.
If you are interested in participating in any of these new Work Groups, please contact HRI through the contact form on our website or email [email protected]. Please also let us know if you are interested in participating in any of the current Work Groups: Adolescent ROSC, Behavioral Health Integration, Criminal Justice, Faith-based Recovery, Housing, Recovery Advocacy, Peer Support/Recovery Community Centers, and Working with Communities.
