HOUSTON RECOVERY INITIATIVE RECEIVES AWARD

Houston, TX – At its January 2020 monthly meeting, the Houston Recovery Initiative (HRI), received a 2019 Gold Facilitation Impact Award, along with Prismatic Solutions, from the International Association of Facilitators (IAF). HRI is the only U.S.-based organization of the 10 global winners.

HRI received a Gold FIA award along with their facilitators, Prismatic Solutions, for the HRI Strategic Planning Initiative. With the leadership of Prismatic Solutions, the facilitated processes of the Strategic Planning Initiative created a framework of expected outcomes and actions against which members of HRI were able to measure the success of actions taken to implement the plan.

“The goal with this project was to develop a strategic plan to help create the appropriate structure for HRI and to determine long-range goals and outcomes with which to measure our efforts,” said Leonard Kincaid, Chair of the Houston Recovery Initiative. “Without the generosity or the support of the Houston Endowment, none of this would be possible. We want to thank the Houston Endowment for its faith in our efforts.”

HRI is a grass-roots volunteer coalition that seeks to achieve a system of support for long-term recovery from addiction through education and empowerment of individuals, families, and communities. Recovery from mental disorders and/or substance use disorders is defined as a process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life and strive to reach their full potential.

Prismatic Solutions provides facilitation services to businesses, government entities, not for profits and other organizations. Certified facilitators coach leaders on how to run productive meetings that engage the participants, achieve the objectives and produce actionable results.

IAF is a professional association with members in more than 65 countries, and is well placed to recognize the power of facilitation worldwide. The Facilitation Impact Awards (FIA) honor organizations from around the world that have used facilitation to achieve a measurable and positive impact, as well as recognizing the facilitators who worked with them.
