Family Resources
Substance use in families is challenging to navigate. In Houston, the Association of Alternative Peer Groups and the Council on Recovery offer programs to assist family members with adolescent substance use. In addition to Al-Anon Family Groups, a 12-step community program which offers peer support to family members, CRAFT (Community Reinforcement Approach and Family Training) teaches families effective communication skills and motivational approaches navigating the addiction in the family system.
